The preliminary rounds of the Open Drawn 2 wood pairs club competition were held at the club on Sunday 24th July.
There were some alterations to the teams due to Covid absentees but 11 teams took part and played some very close matches on what was a very hot sunny day. Two teams that were due to play the first semi final decided to postpone their game because of the extremely hot conditions and will play it soon.
The other semi final was played with Dave Earl and Paul Pinnington playing Alison Rapley and Anne Facer. This game kept the spectators on the edge of their seats and Alison and Anne emerged deserving winners and will go forward to play in the final at our finals weekend on 24th and 25th September.
