Rosedale Bowls Club NewsWe held our first fun day of the season on Sat 18th July. 30 bowlers took part, with a good number of supporters. The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed a fine BBQ lunch - Jim Djouma toiling over the coals. We played two 9 end games in the morning and after lunch we did a spider followed by 4 fun games, including bowls into a bucket and corner to corner. Many of our newer members took part and the day lived up to its name as a fun event.
Ron Passingham & Barry Turner shared the prize for top shot and the winners of each fun game also received a cash prize. The event had been nominated as a past members memorial day in memory of our bowlers who sadly passed away last season. All the bowlers who won prizes on the day gave back their winnings which were added to the excess income from the day, allowing the club to make a sizeable donation to the two nominated charities - Isabel Hospice and Cancer Research UK.
Our next fun day will be held on Sunday 13th September.
